I've been reading yuri since 2018. But for years, all until 2025, I never told anyone out of fear of judgement. But there is too much good manga that needs to be shared with the world.

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san	6.5/10	One of my favorites that I was just re-reading. Very comedic, unfortunately not much development, so a lot of people would classify this as yuri-bait. But it's still pretty explicit. The whole shtick is that a girl who "acts like a dog" really likes cats, and a girl wwho "acts like a cat" really likes dogs.
My friend is the cutest in the world	5/10	One of those niche series where there's not much going on, but it's still really sweet. Ending was really abrupt, and I could only assume it's because the series got axed. Unfortunate.
Young Ladies Don't play Fighting Games	8/10	It's a strange combination, Fighting games, and rich girls who go to all girls boarding school..? The way the series is going, I think it's likely to end up in my top 10. The story really goes indepth about video games and fighting games too. It's really funny, and getting an anime, where they are actually just playing street fighter 6.

The Summer You Were There	9/10	(Manga) A manga about redemption and the shadow of your past actions, very sweet and very sad. I really want to talk more about the story, but I also think it would basically be spoiling it
slow start	8/10	(Manga and 1 season of anime) Slice of life very mild and soft yuri. The main character, Ichinose Hana, misses her high school entrance exams because of an illness, and enters high school after a gap year. shes insecure about this, but makes many friends. I'm a sucker for any kind of slice of yuri 4-koma stuff. Bonus points for still being ongoing.
Himegami no miko	7.5/10	(Manga) if you are old enough to remember or just known of "Kannazuki no Miko", you know it's one of the great yuri classics for 2000s yuri fanatics. But you likely also know, it's definitely not the best. Himegami no miko is a reformed, more polished, modern yuri that uses the face of the OG characters from Kannazuki no Miko.
Strawberry Panic	7.5/10	(Manga and Anime)Speaking of classics, Strawberry panic is an absolute OG from 2006. I think it's ok for me to admit the series is older than me. Unfortunately, as good as old school yuri is, a lot of it is problematic (see: Citrus). Strawberry panic is a "greatest of all time" series in the yuri community due to it being one of the only animes that turned the yuri all the way up. Typically back then (and realistically, even now) a lot of yuri series are very light and implied, and are not the main focus of the series.
Whisper Me a Love Song	9/10	(Manga and ~~Anime~~) A more modern classic. A music themed yuri, to fulfill the yuri-bait hole that k-on leaves. Beautiful and onogoing series by Takeshima Eku, and one of the first I read in 2019.
Watanare (there's no way I'll be your girlfriend)	7/10	(Manga and Anime) Very mainstream this year, and for good reason. Also by Takeshima Eku. Very cute, with a lot going on! The main character , Renako, is a bit of a loser going who worked hard on her "Highschool Debut". She's finally in highschool, and in the popular girls group! But then, a misunderstanding happens, and suddenly one of her friends in that popular girl group (Mai) falls in love with her. Then another girl (Ajisai) from that group also does... and then another one. Ok, we get it Renako, you're greedy.
Catulus Sydrome	8/10	(Manga) This manga means a stupid amount to me. I've probably read it 5 times. I still remember skipping class to sit in the stairwell to read it! The series is about how some girls develop catlike traits. Don't try to overthink the science in this manga, it doesn't make any sense. I just wish the series was longer, even though it's 8 volumes long.
I can't defy the lonely girl	7/10	(Manga) Smart excellent student x deliquent girl yuri. Great series
